Stem cell fat transfer is a novel procedure that we are doing frequently these days. We are able to improve the retention of the fat grafting by combining the adipocyte (fat cells) with the SVC (stromal vascular fraction) containing the stem cell. The SVC also contains other cells as well that improve the regeneration of blood vessels to bring the nutrient to the grafted fat cell. Replenishing the cheeks which have lost fat from the aging process is an elegant and effective method of midfacial rejuvenation.
In addition for those patients that don’t like the temporary effect of the botulinum toxins (Botox, Dysport etc.) in the forehead, we can now offer stem cell enriched fat grafting. We have had excellent results like the one we are presenting today when we combined this procedure along with the Erbium laser resurfacing. Patients that are reluctant to be injected with botulinum toxins are candidates as well. In our facility we are able to test the viability and quantity of the stem cells used in our patients with a state of the art flow cytometer operated by our associated PHD biologist. In this way we are ensuring the method used to isolate the mesenchymal stem cells are correct and effective. Even though the use of this equipment is very expensive and laborious we are continuing the quest for efficacy and excellency that all our patients deserve.
