Vertical mastopexy, also known in lay terms as lollipop breast lift, is a great procedure to lift the breasts in patients that do not want to alter their breast size and do want implants.
With this procedure, there is an incision made around the areola and vertically. Since the tension is placed on the breast tissue itself, the areola remain small and the vertical scar almost always heals so well that over time it becomes inconspicuous.
This procedure tends to have better long term results than the circumferential mastopexy which often can flatten the breasts. At the same time, the patient is left with less scars than with the classical inverted T incision mastopexy.
